INN FOODS ADDS ENROBING EQUIPMENT FOR SEASONING AND FLAVORING

(Watsonville, CA) Inn Foods, Inc. announced today the purchase of enrobing equipment manufactured by Spray Dynamics. With the installation of this equipment, Inn Foods joins a select group of U.S. re-packers of individual quick-frozen food products who are able to add seasoning and flavoring to vegetables, proteins, or blends of those products.

According to Mike Randle, president of Inn Foods, "We are adding this equipment and capability as the request of a customer. We believe that applying seasonings and flavors at the time frozen foods are repacked will add value to those products in the eyes of the consumer and that many other customers will utilize this equipment in the near future. Inn Foods continually looks at the market's changing needs. We respond to those needs and to customer requests and customize our service to meet the individual needs of our customers."

In addition to making frozen food taste better, enrobing has health benefits as well. For some consumers, products that are frozen in sauces that add taste also add unwanted calories or carbohydrates. Enrobing enhances flavor without adding increasing dietary concerns.

Inn Foods expects the enrobing equipment to be installed and operational at its main production facility in Castroville, CA by mid-November.

Inn Foods, Inc. was founded in 1976 and has production operations in North and Central America and is a major importer of frozen food products from Europe, Central and South America, and Asia. Inn Foods is a subsidiary of the VPS Companies of Watsonville, CA, a 55-year-old group of vertically integrated enterprises operating in the frozen food business.
